Pressed Kief

Strain Used: Unkown
Extraction Solvent: -
Sativa/Indica: Indica

Appearance: Light yellow trichomes, loosely pressed together to form clumps which break down easily. Plant matter (orange pistils and specs of leaf) is visible within sample.

Aroma / Flavor: Kitchen Herbs.

Overall Effects: I recieved this sample for free as a first time patient at a local dispensary, and while initially pleased with such a “freebee” it was easy to tell why it was free upon closer inspection. Kief generally smells similar to the strain it was made from, unfortunately it’s painfully apparent that this sample was made from imported mexican schwag or some bunk outdoor. When sprinkled on top of a bowl, the effects of the kief are murky and produce a mild cerebral buzz that borders on the verge of a headache. While this particular concentrate may not be appropriate for a heavy user or fan of higher quality extracts, it might be perfect for the light weight who’s looking to add an extra kick to there goodnight bowl while staying within their budget.

Maliblu Dream

Strain: Blue Dream (“Maliblu Dream”)
Lineage: Dj Shorts Blueberry x Super Silver Haze
Breeder: Unkown
Sativa/Indica: Sativa Dominant Hybrid
Dispensary:MMRC – Sherman Oaks, CA

Appearance: Fluffy light green buds with light orange hairs and a generous coating of resin glands.

Aroma / Flavor: Strong and distinct smell of blueberry muffins with undertones of a slightly spicy floral complexity suggestive of haze. The blueberry muffin aroma transitions to flavor well, and the spicy haze notes become more apparent.

Overall Effects: Blue Dream is a great daytime or morning smoke – the high like the name suggests is light and dreamy, with an upbeat euphoric effect. The classic “haze” vision is common, making your vision lucid and the world appear brighter. Praised for it’s antidepressant properties and unique blueberry muffin flavor and aroma, blue dream took the medical scene by storm and can be found at dispensaries throughout the country. While some hazes are too intense and psychedelic for some, Blue Dream offers a more gentle journey into the crisp head highs of the haze family. While predominantly up and cerebral in effect, this is great social herb that any connoisseur would be pleased to toke on.

Jack Hammer (Jack Herer x Og Kush)

Strain: Jack Hammer
Lineage: Jack Herer x Og Kush
Breeder: Unkown
Sativa/Indica: Sativa Dominant Hybrid
Dispensary:MMRC – Sherman Oaks, CA

Appearance: Light green and crusted with trichomes, open structure but dense bud clusters with a spear shape.

Aroma / Flavor: Sharp and powerful reminiscent of vicks vapor rub with a sweet lemony citrus note being contributed by the Og influence. The flavor is complex and mentholated, sweet astringent fresh and floral all at once.

Overall Effects: Instant and electric this sativa is a psychedelic jump start for your system. Colors seem more vivid, lights seem brighter, and an almost immediate sense of detachment and euphoria takes place upon onset. With hash like potency, the Jack Hammer is invigorating and energizing delivering a full spectrum experience; a warm body buzz accompanied by a full on sativa head trip that’s sure to leave your mind wandering. This is an amazing hybrid with a complex flavor and high to match – sure to please any of those lucky enough to acquire some. Also may be useful for it’s antidepressant qualities, though the intense sativa high proves to be too much for some.

OG Kush Budder

Strain Used: Og Kush
Extraction Solvent: Butane
Sativa/Indica: Indica

Appearance: Opaque golden yellow clumps with a dried butter or soap consistancy.

Aroma / Flavor:Strong aroma and flavor of the astrigent citrus funk that is OG Kush. Considerably stronger smelling and tasting than the flowers from which it was made.

Overall Effects: Instant cerebral jolt that can be too much for some, often causing sweat to accumulate on the brows of even the iron lunged. The expansion of this concentrate is unreal, leaving you almost breathless upon exhale with a residual coating of the OG flavor on your tongue. The high sets in immediately, with a soaring high, euphoria, and general disconnect from reality. This soaring high eventually fades into the form an overpowering heavy all around buzz that’s narcotic in nature, and sure to cause ravenous munchies.

Caveman OG (Abusive Og Kush x Pre-98′ Bubba Kush)

Strain: CaveMan Og
Lineage: Abusive OG Kush x Pre-98 Bubba Kush
Breeder: Clone Only
Sativa/Indica: Indica

Appearance: Purple veins and highlights throughout sample, very large calyx’s with deep orange / rust colored pistils. Dense weighty nugs, thickly coated with visible trichomes.

Aroma / Flavor: Earthy and musky reminiscent of the Pre-98 Bubba Kush but with an additional astringent complexity, contributed by the Abusive OG. The flavor translates to a deep hashy OG flavor with, with sweet earthy inuendos.

Overall Effects: The CaveMan OG is a heavy hitting hybrid sure to be please any Kush fan. The Abusive OG Kush adds a more cerebral effect to the mostly body buzz of the Pre-98′ Bubba Kush while still retaining the heaviness of a good indica stone. The high comes on faster and lasts longer than the Pre-98 in it’s pure form, and the flavor is more pungent from the OG influences. Great for focused leisure or for those who need an appetite stimulant – if you overdue it you’ll likely be taking an unexpected nap. Dense trichome accumulation makes the CaveMan OG a great hash source.

Pre-98′ Bubba Kush Amber Shard

Strain Used: Pre-98 Bubba Kush
Extraction Solvent: 91% Isopropyl Alcohol
Sativa/Indica: Indica

Appearance: Light amber / red / pink flakes of varying size. Has the appearance of shards of broken glass.

Aroma / Flavor: The distinct sweet coffee mocha kush smell of the Pre-98 is easily detectable when the product is brought to your nose, when smoked the flavor is similar with additional piney nuances.

Overall Effects: Like the Pre-98 Bubba Kush, this is heavy stuff. A sprinkle on top of a bowl or on your skillet will surely help bring an end to your day. Ideal for those in need of a strong natural sedative, appetite stimulate, pain distraction, or sleep aide – but not the greatest option if you plan on staying up and getting things done after consumption. The high is narcotic in nature, and felt mostly in the form of a strong body buzz and lethargy with little to no shift in mental perspective.

J1 (Jack Herer x Skunk #1)

Strain: J1
Lineage:Jack Herer x Skunk #1
Breeder: Unkown
Sativa/Indica: Mostly Sativa

Appearance: Light green nugs with orange hairs. Densely packed trichomes blanket the sample giving the nugs a glowing white sheen.

Aroma / Flavor: Spicy and musky. A complex floral flavor reminiscent of eucalyptus that brings a mentholated quality. Undertones of a citric spice reminiscent of jack herer.

Overall Effects: J1 sets in quickly with a clear sativa buzz that’s euphoric and uplifting. The skunk #1 takes the edge off the sometimes racy effects of Jack Herer, delivering a more manageable sativa buzz that’s great for getting things done. The high is lucid and clear, almost invigorating – this variety could be helpful for those with depression or anxiety, who need a natural pick me up that wont knock them down or send them spinning off into the psychedelic stratospheres.

Grand Daddy Purple (GDP)

Strain: Grand Daddy Purple
Lineage: Grape Ape x Big Bud
Breeder: Clone Only
Sativa/Indica: Indica
Dispensary: MMRC – Sherman Oaks, CA

Appearance: Large chunky purple nugs, with highlights of lime green. Rust / golden pistils and glandular heads give the buds an almost sandy appearance.

Aroma / Flavor: Very complex grape musk with incense undertones. Both skunky and fruity. The aroma transitions to flavor beautifully and covers your mouth with a sweet and hashy flavor that makes you want to lick your lips for more.

Overall Effects: Grand Daddy Purple is one of those strains of cannabis that you have to see to believe. Not only are the buds of GDP nearly solid purple, they smell strongly of a musky grape funk that saturates the pallet when smoked. The effects of GDP come on steadily when smoked, delivering a contemplative indica stone that is sure to be appreciated by any who encounter it. Grand Daddy Purple is unique in it’s effects for an indica because while remaining sufficiently potent, it leaves you surprisingly unencumbered. Those who need a solid indica for daytime use might find that GDP is just what the doctor ordered – though the unreal flavor and appearance can make this stuff hard to put down (which isn’t exactly conducive to getting things done). Like most indicas, GDP is great for stimulating the appetite, minor aches and pains, and anxiety.

Pre-98′ Bubba Kush

Strain: Pre-98 Bubba Kush
Lineage: Unknown
Breeder: Clone Only
Sativa/Indica: Indica

Appearance: Dense and chunky. Rock hard light green calyxes covered in a blanket of resin. Purple / fuscia veins visible throughout sample.

Aroma / Flavor: Earthy and musky, with distinct mocha and coffee undertones. The flavor is deep and hashy, rougher than the aroma.

Overall Effects: The smoke from Bubba Kush is thick and expansive, bringing on a warm indica buzz that is felt almost entirely in the body. The onset is gradual and the buzz is heavy and calming. A true indica, Bubba Kush can prove helpful for inducing sleep, pain management, and stimulating appetite. Yields from Bubba Kush are modest at best.

Phyllis Diller

Strain: Phyllis Diller
Lineage: Unkown
Breeder: Unknown
Sativa/Indica: Sativa
Dispensary: MMRC – Sherman Oaks, CA

Appearance: The Diller is that lime green color that almost glows, accompanied by light pink / rust pistils. A respectable amount of beige trichomes give the surface a grainy appearance. Surprisingly dense for a sativa.

Aroma / Flavor: Sharp Lemon Citrus aroma with a complex Lighter fluid bottom – and it doesn’t stop there, upon exhale there’s a delicate floral innuendo that brings to mind Super Silver Haze.

Overall Effects: I don’t know why they named this stuff after a comedian because there isn’t anything laughable about this strain. For those in need of a serious pick me up, this stuff is where it’s at. The high is immediate and soaring, felt almost entirely in the head leaving the you alert and focused. The flavor is indescribable, with a range from lighter fluid or gas (but nothing like the sour diesel family) all the way to fresher citric notes suggesting the presence of the terpene limonene. The high is intense and euphoric, and the unique flavor can easily cause overindulgence. There is little ceiling to the effects – your mind just keeps racing faster and faster until your left with sweaty palms, anxious, and peeking through your blinds. Not for the faint of heart. One of the best sativas I’ve had the privileged of smoking here in SoCal – respect to the breeder responsible for this gem.
