Grandoggy Purps

Strain: Grandoggy Purps
Lineage: Chem D x Grand Daddy Purple
Breeder: Connoisseur Genetics
Sativa/Indica: Mostly Indica

Appearance: Compact rock hard nugs of bright green and purple, densely coated in trichomes. Orange / Rust pistillate hairs emerge sparsely from coral like clusters of calyx.

Aroma / Flavor: Unbroken, the nugs give off a deep musk often associated with the Bubba Kush family – upon closer inspection and agitation, an astringent chemical note from the chem d makes itself apparent with a sweet musky background from the GDP. The flavor is more similar to the smell of the unbroken nug, a deep musky kush without the chem / gdp nuances.

Overall Effects: The Grandoggy Purps sets in quickly, with a warm body buzz that envelops you from head to toe. The smoke is thick and expansive, leaving a sweet film of kush that lingers. While very potent, the ceiling is relatively low, with increased use prolonging the experience rather than increasing it’s intensity. This strains (This phenotype at least) effects are predominantly oriented in the body, felt mostly in the form of a deep sense of relaxation, well being, and calm. May be useful for those suffering from anxiety, muscle spasms, or insomnia.

Grand Daddy Purple (GDP)

Strain: Grand Daddy Purple
Lineage: Grape Ape x Big Bud
Breeder: Clone Only
Sativa/Indica: Indica
Dispensary: MMRC – Sherman Oaks, CA

Appearance: Large chunky purple nugs, with highlights of lime green. Rust / golden pistils and glandular heads give the buds an almost sandy appearance.

Aroma / Flavor: Very complex grape musk with incense undertones. Both skunky and fruity. The aroma transitions to flavor beautifully and covers your mouth with a sweet and hashy flavor that makes you want to lick your lips for more.

Overall Effects: Grand Daddy Purple is one of those strains of cannabis that you have to see to believe. Not only are the buds of GDP nearly solid purple, they smell strongly of a musky grape funk that saturates the pallet when smoked. The effects of GDP come on steadily when smoked, delivering a contemplative indica stone that is sure to be appreciated by any who encounter it. Grand Daddy Purple is unique in it’s effects for an indica because while remaining sufficiently potent, it leaves you surprisingly unencumbered. Those who need a solid indica for daytime use might find that GDP is just what the doctor ordered – though the unreal flavor and appearance can make this stuff hard to put down (which isn’t exactly conducive to getting things done). Like most indicas, GDP is great for stimulating the appetite, minor aches and pains, and anxiety.
