Leia OG

Strain: Leia OG
Lineage: Skywalker Og x (Grape Stomper x Og)
Breeder: Gage Green Genetics
Sativa/Indica: Hybrid

Appearance: Extremely dense, medium sized lime green and purple calyxes, with large resin glands that give the surface a carpet like appearance. Orange / Rust pistillate hairs present throughout.

Aroma / Flavor: The aroma leans towards the Grape Stomper lineage, expressing a deep and dark grape floral smell with the ability to permeate most storage containers like a good kush hybrid should. The grape is less pronounced in the flavor. The taste is by no means bad, just subtle – smooth with mild expansion, and a sweet flavor that hints at grape on the exhale.

Overall Effects: Like most OG hybrids, the Leia OG expedites your trip from sobriety with it’s effects being felt soon after exhaling the first toke. Drawing from both the sativa and indica spectrums, this hybrid provides a functional stone felt both in mind and body. While a body buzz was apparent it was by no means debilitating, allowing for daytime use by those in need of the medicinal effects of an indica without the fear of couchlock. Mild dissociative effects, experienced as a detachment from self, allowing for clear objective thought. May benefit those who suffer from anxiety, appetite loss, aching joints, and chronic pain.

Champagne

Strain: Champagne
Lineage: [Hashplant X Hindu Kush] X Burmese
Breeder: Reeferman
Sativa/Indica: 50% Indica / 50% Sativa

Appearance: Extremely resinous (would make a great source of hash) light green nugs composed of small swollen densely packed bracts with short rust colored pistilate hairs throughout.

Aroma / Flavor: The aroma of the broken herb is delicate, sweet and floral. The flavor when smoked is more complex; smooth, lightly fruity, and genuinely reminiscent of a white sparkling wine.

Overall Effects: A perfect balance of Indica and Sativa, Champagne produces a soothing upbeat buzz that’s both heady and functional. Potent but by no means debilitating, rendering a dreamy euphoric head-space where your both alert and calm, accompanied by a mild but apparent body buzz. While there’s no shared lineage, I find the effects to be very similar to that of Blue Dream in it’s well balanced buzz.

Medical patients may find this strain useful for daytime use in treating symptoms of depression, pain, anxiety, inflammation, or migraines.

Headband

Strain: Headband
Lineage: Sour Diesel x Og Kush
Breeder: Unknown
Sativa/Indica: Hybrid

Appearance: Dense lime green nugs contrasted by deep green sugar leaf and light orange / pinkish pistillate hairs.

Aroma / Flavor: Similar to both Og Kush and Sour Diesel in it’s pungency, headband smells and tastes strongly – both fuely and skunky.

Overall Effects: Headband is a great daytime or morning smoke when used in moderation. Potent and uplifting, headband sets in quickly with a manageable buzz that doesn’t kill your motivation. The Sour Diesel and Og Kush influence are apparent the second you crack the seal on a jar, sure to smell through any but air tight containers. The effects are euphoric and relaxing, offering relief to those suffering from depression and anxiety, and in larger doses can help with appetite stimulation and insomnia.

Po #1 (Sour Double X SoCal Master Kush)

Strain: P.O. #1  (aka Riddler OG)
Lineage: Sour Double (Sour Diesel x Sour Bubble)  x SoCal Master Kush
Breeder: Progressive Options  - Clone Only
Sativa/Indica: Mostly Indica

Appearance: The nugs of PO #1 are large calyxed and similar in structure to Sour Diesel though a substantially darker shade of green. The surface has an almost grey sheen from the large trichome glands that densely accumulate in some areas. Spear shaped buds, full but not overly dense.

Aroma / Flavor: The skunky fuel smell of the Sour Diesel is present but substantially softened by the influence of the Master Kush, which adds a sweeter hashy flavor and smell. While less pungent than the pure Sour Diesel, the smell is still likely to escape all but air tight containers.

Overall Effects: PO #1 is a powerful indica dominant hybrid that calms both mind and body with it’s smooth and flavorful smoke. It sets in gradually, with effects ranging from a dreamy stone to full on couch-lock depending on the quantity consumed. While similar to Sour Diesel, the PO #1 provides a less intense and more relaxing stone that is dominant in the body but still present in the mind – a true indica dominant hybrid. Ideal for use later in the day, PO #1 makes a great sleep aid and is known to cause “munchies” consistently regardless of tolerance.

Skywalker OG

Strain: Skywalker OG
Lineage: Select OG Kush Phenotype
Breeder: Unkown
Sativa/Indica: Indica Dominant Hybrid

Appearance: Dense tight clusters of light green calyxes with rust / maroon pistils.

Aroma / Flavor: A twist on the classic OG kush aroma – sweet, astringent, pinesol, funk.

Overall Effects: Skywalker OG comes on fast like a good OG should and while definitely an indica dominant cross Skywalker OG is surprisingly uplifting. The high, while strong and accompanied by a strong body buzz is upbeat and euphoric – by no means lethargy producing as many other OG crosses tend to be. Don’t get me wrong, you can definitely go to sleep on this stuff if those are your intentions, but it’s best applications would be for “focused leisure” like movie watching or socializing with friends. Like most Indica dominant hybrids Skywalker OG can be useful for appetite stimulation, as an anecdote for anti-anxiety, and for mild body aches and pains.

Maliblu Dream

Strain: Blue Dream (“Maliblu Dream”)
Lineage: Dj Shorts Blueberry x Super Silver Haze
Breeder: Unkown
Sativa/Indica: Sativa Dominant Hybrid
Dispensary:MMRC – Sherman Oaks, CA

Appearance: Fluffy light green buds with light orange hairs and a generous coating of resin glands.

Aroma / Flavor: Strong and distinct smell of blueberry muffins with undertones of a slightly spicy floral complexity suggestive of haze. The blueberry muffin aroma transitions to flavor well, and the spicy haze notes become more apparent.

Overall Effects: Blue Dream is a great daytime or morning smoke – the high like the name suggests is light and dreamy, with an upbeat euphoric effect. The classic “haze” vision is common, making your vision lucid and the world appear brighter. Praised for it’s antidepressant properties and unique blueberry muffin flavor and aroma, blue dream took the medical scene by storm and can be found at dispensaries throughout the country. While some hazes are too intense and psychedelic for some, Blue Dream offers a more gentle journey into the crisp head highs of the haze family. While predominantly up and cerebral in effect, this is great social herb that any connoisseur would be pleased to toke on.

NASA OG (Planetary Reserve)

NASA OG

Strain: NASA OG
Lineage: Og Kush Hybrid / Selection
Breeder: Unknown
Sativa/Indica: Hybrid

Appearance: Large light green calyxes coated with trichomes that appear almost sandy. The large calyxes are accompanied by amber / rust pistils, coming together to form sizable buds that are slightly spear shaped. Overall great structure, and a density that will please both grower and patient.

Aroma / Flavor: Classic Og Kush funk with sweet and hashy innuendos.

Overall Effects: Calming, dreamy, and comforting without leaving you locked to the couch. The onset is quick, like with most OG’s, though not immediate by any means. The flavor spectrum though distinctly OG is more floral and sweet (Almost Candied) than with some of the more Sour and Fuel leaning Og’s which some people may prefer. The smoke is expansive and potent, but still gentle on the throat and lungs, leaving behind an almost sugary coating of flavor. For the seasoned smoker this OG may be the perfect daytime companion – while the effects are powerful, they are not particularly encumbering leaving me both stoned AND motivated…..and a little hungry. One of the better Og’s from the planetary series, though from what I’ve sampled they’re all good!

P-90X OG

Strain: P-90X OG
Lineage: Og Kush Hybrid
Breeder: Unknown
Sativa/Indica: Hybrid
Dispensary: SFCHC in Santa Fe Springs, CA

Appearance: Densely packed clusters of small trichome coated light green calyxs with rust colored pistils throughout. Buds were sizable for their weight with good structure and density, most showing a sativa influenced spear shape.

Aroma / Flavor: A unique lemon lime twist on the OG flavor, that’s both lighter and more citrusy, while still retaining the classic astringency and hashiness. The aroma and flavor are one and the same with this sample – very smooth, with lemon lime nuances accompanying the OG flavor till the last puff, signs of a great dry and cure.

Overall Effects: Euphoric and dreamy, the high sets in gradually with the exhale of the first drag or bong rip. The sharp lemon lime nuances that accompany the classic OG in this sample linger behind in your mouth long after the smoke is released. Though extremely potent, the buzz of the P90X is not debilitating nor lethargy producing; great for those with a high tolerance that need a strain that’s well rounded in it’s effects and can be used throughout the day without putting you out. Potentially useful for those with depression or anxiety, the effects of the P90X are uplifting and cerebral with just enough indica influence to take the edge off. A meditative sativa-dominant buzz of the highest order.

Sour Strawberry Kush

Sour Strawberry Kush

Strain: Sour Strawberry Kush
Lineage: Strawberry Kush (Strawberry Cough x Razzberry x ECSD) x Sour Bubble
Breeder: B.O.G.
Sativa/Indica: Indica Dominant Hybrid
Price / Dispensary: -

Grow Notes: This particular phenotype showed mostly indica traits in structure remaining short and bushy even after entering flowering. For best yields provide extended vegetative growth periods and utilize training techniques such as scrog, LST, etc.

Appearance: Round, chunky, and dense – these purple nugs are covered with densely packed trichomes leaving no guard leaf or calyx forgotten (As is the standard with B.O.G. strains). The calyx’s are really a unique shade of purple/fuscia/pink,

Aroma / Flavor: Fruity with an added complexity; hints of strawberry, razzberry, and some other unidentified berrys with a musky kushy element that brings it all together. The aroma transitions to flavor well, though the fruity element is a little more bland when smoked. The strawberry nuances carry through with hints of its diesel heritage on the exhale, expressing itself with a kushy pungency that lingers.

Overall Effects: A smooth transition from sobriety. The effects build gradually in the form of a warm body buzz and general sense of well being, that you can almost feel dissipating the unwanted tension stored throughout the body. Perceptual changes weren’t severe and would allow one to carry on with their normal routine or activities, all the while reaping the benefits of the anti-anxiety and body soothing properties of the buzz. The particular phenotype being sampled seemed to lean towards it’s indica influenced berry lineage, with little of the psychedelic and cerebral properties of the sativa side of things shining through except via a mild uplifting euphoria that lasted the duration of the buzz.

Both the appearance and anti-anxiety properties of this phenotype were noteworthy, relieving any free floating thoughts of uneasiness that were present prior to medicating. I’d be very interested to see / sample other phenotypes that came from this release due to the immense variation in poly-hybrids – particularly the sativa dominant phenos that express a more complex and psychedelic high while still retaining the wild berry flavors captured in this indica-dominant pheno.

Cinderella 99 BX-1

Cinderella 99

Strain: Cinderella 99 Bx-1
Lineage: Isolated Phenotype of Jack Herrer x ?
Breeder: Mosca Negra
Sativa/Indica: Uknown
Grow Notes: Mosca did a great job with this batch of Cinderella 99 seeds – the females all grew relatively uniform with wide fan leaves with some turning a deep shade of purple by harvest. The plants were very resilient and not particularly nutrient sensitive, producing above average yields of tropical mind candy.

Description: The pungent tropical funk of C99 is like few other strains I’ve come across – with sharp notes of pineapple, mango, and some other unidentifiable fruits combining beautifully with the more skunky side of the cannabis smell / flavor spectrum. This girl truly is a princess, glistening with a thick coating of trichomes leaving no surface area forgotten. The high is quick to set in and extremely cerebral, delivering a boost of energy and an added ability to focus (Maybe helpful for those who show symptoms of ADD/ADHD). Some describe the high as racy, with some even experiencing bouts of paranoia so discretion is advised!  I found this batch particularly useful during the daytime, the high really caters to an active lifestyle, leaving you with a pleasant euphoric invigoration that has an almost unnoticeable progression back to sobriety – a real gem for those who need to get medicated earlier in the day without getting burnt out.

Cinderella 99 was originally developed by the now defunct Brothers Grimm seed company, and is an isolated phenotype of Jack Herrer grown from seed derived from a bag bought at a coffee shop in Amsterdam.
