BOG – Sour Strawberry Kush

OG #18

Strain: OG #18
Lineage: 91′ Chemdawg Selection
Breeder: Reserva Privada
Sativa/Indica: Indica

Appearance: Large dense lime green nugs with rust / orange pistillate hairs sparsely throughout. Calyxes/Bracts are large, swollen, and densely packed forming tight clusters of buds with the consistency of Styrofoam.

Aroma / Flavor: Extremely pungent fuel smell with astringent notes similar to a cleaning product such as pine-sol. Smell transitions to flavor perfectly, coating the mouth with a strong and familiar OG taste.

Overall Effects: Immediate and powerful, the OG #18 produces a profound change in mood and perception that leaves many lightweights in a wall staring stupor. Sporting hash like potency, a well rounded high, and a deep fuely spin on the familiar So-Cal OG smell and flavor, even the pickiest of pot snobs will be satisfied. If your looking for a true OG in seed form with more vigor and higher yield than most of the clone only varieties being passed around, this is a good place to start looking.

The flavor of this particular phenotype is a must taste for any kush lover, rich and earthy, an all around great example of just how good the OG family can be when selected and grown to perfection. Blueberry OG

Strain: Blueberry OG
Lineage: Dj Shorts Blueberry x SFV OG Kush
Breeder: Unknown
Sativa/Indica: Indica Dominant Hybrid

Appearance: Dense trichome coated nugs, composed of light green and purple hued calyx’s contrasted by deep rust hued pistillate hairs.

Aroma / Flavor: A deep berry musk with fleeting hints of the astringent citrusy funk that is Og Kush. The flavor is similar to the aroma, deep and hashy lightened by a fruity influence from the blueberry heritage in the cross.

Overall Effects: World famous in and of itself, little can go wrong when a good pheno of Dj Shorts Blueberry is in the mix. Euphoric and Cerebral, this strain takes some of the sativa bliss from the Dj Short Blueberry line and mixes it with the almost instant buzz of the SFV OG Kush, delivering a well rounded smoke suited for many medicinal applications. Patients may find this strain particularly useful for treating anxiety, stimulating appetite, or as a sleep aide. A potent indica dominant variety that will take the edge off, while still allowing you to get on with your day. While sharing no lineage or flavor nuances, the effects are similar to the buzz of Grand Daddy Purple with a well balanced effect in both mind and body. This sample was collected in San Diego, California.

Skywalker OG

Strain: Skywalker OG
Lineage: Select OG Kush Phenotype
Breeder: Unkown
Sativa/Indica: Indica Dominant Hybrid

Appearance: Dense tight clusters of light green calyxes with rust / maroon pistils.

Aroma / Flavor: A twist on the classic OG kush aroma – sweet, astringent, pinesol, funk.

Overall Effects: Skywalker OG comes on fast like a good OG should and while definitely an indica dominant cross Skywalker OG is surprisingly uplifting. The high, while strong and accompanied by a strong body buzz is upbeat and euphoric – by no means lethargy producing as many other OG crosses tend to be. Don’t get me wrong, you can definitely go to sleep on this stuff if those are your intentions, but it’s best applications would be for “focused leisure” like movie watching or socializing with friends. Like most Indica dominant hybrids Skywalker OG can be useful for appetite stimulation, as an anecdote for anti-anxiety, and for mild body aches and pains.

Caveman OG (Abusive Og Kush x Pre-98′ Bubba Kush)

Strain: CaveMan Og
Lineage: Abusive OG Kush x Pre-98 Bubba Kush
Breeder: Clone Only
Sativa/Indica: Indica

Appearance: Purple veins and highlights throughout sample, very large calyx’s with deep orange / rust colored pistils. Dense weighty nugs, thickly coated with visible trichomes.

Aroma / Flavor: Earthy and musky reminiscent of the Pre-98 Bubba Kush but with an additional astringent complexity, contributed by the Abusive OG. The flavor translates to a deep hashy OG flavor with, with sweet earthy inuendos.

Overall Effects: The CaveMan OG is a heavy hitting hybrid sure to be please any Kush fan. The Abusive OG Kush adds a more cerebral effect to the mostly body buzz of the Pre-98′ Bubba Kush while still retaining the heaviness of a good indica stone. The high comes on faster and lasts longer than the Pre-98 in it’s pure form, and the flavor is more pungent from the OG influences. Great for focused leisure or for those who need an appetite stimulant – if you overdue it you’ll likely be taking an unexpected nap. Dense trichome accumulation makes the CaveMan OG a great hash source.

Grand Daddy Purple (GDP)

Strain: Grand Daddy Purple
Lineage: Grape Ape x Big Bud
Breeder: Clone Only
Sativa/Indica: Indica
Dispensary: MMRC – Sherman Oaks, CA

Appearance: Large chunky purple nugs, with highlights of lime green. Rust / golden pistils and glandular heads give the buds an almost sandy appearance.

Aroma / Flavor: Very complex grape musk with incense undertones. Both skunky and fruity. The aroma transitions to flavor beautifully and covers your mouth with a sweet and hashy flavor that makes you want to lick your lips for more.

Overall Effects: Grand Daddy Purple is one of those strains of cannabis that you have to see to believe. Not only are the buds of GDP nearly solid purple, they smell strongly of a musky grape funk that saturates the pallet when smoked. The effects of GDP come on steadily when smoked, delivering a contemplative indica stone that is sure to be appreciated by any who encounter it. Grand Daddy Purple is unique in it’s effects for an indica because while remaining sufficiently potent, it leaves you surprisingly unencumbered. Those who need a solid indica for daytime use might find that GDP is just what the doctor ordered – though the unreal flavor and appearance can make this stuff hard to put down (which isn’t exactly conducive to getting things done). Like most indicas, GDP is great for stimulating the appetite, minor aches and pains, and anxiety.

Pre-98′ Bubba Kush

Strain: Pre-98 Bubba Kush
Lineage: Unknown

Appearance: Dense and chunky. Rock hard light green calyxes covered in a blanket of resin. Purple / fuscia veins visible throughout sample.

Aroma / Flavor: Earthy and musky, with distinct mocha and coffee undertones. The flavor is deep and hashy, rougher than the aroma.

Overall Effects: The smoke from Bubba Kush is thick and expansive, bringing on a warm indica buzz that is felt almost entirely in the body. The onset is gradual and the buzz is heavy and calming. A true indica, Bubba Kush can prove helpful for inducing sleep, pain management, and stimulating appetite. Yields from Bubba Kush are modest at best.

Afghan Kush Special

Afghan Kush Special

Strain: Afghan Kush Special
Lineage: Afghan Kush Land Race
Breeder: World Of Seeds
Sativa/Indica: 100% Indica
Grow Notes: Afghan Kush grows with one dominant central cola if left to it’s own devices, and can take high levels of nutrients without showing signs of burns. Buds reach maturity around 8 weeks, but letting them flower until week 9 will ensure a body/mind numbing indica stone.

Description: Afghan Kush Special is extremely dense, stoney smoke – a classic indica in every aspect. The buds are pungent and musky with an underlying subtle fruity note (Though what fruit I’m not sure). Like most 100% indicas the buzz is felt mostly in the body, with very little cerebral stimulation. The smoke is thick and smooth, and the buzz is strong but by no means debilitating for the seasoned smoker. A good late afternoon smoke when the bulk of the work is done for the day, but you don’t want to be rendered useless for the rest of the night. In comparison to the intense stone of the OG’s most people associate with the word kush today, the Afghan Kush Special is mild and the stone more gentle and relaxing. A good variety for those with anxiety, this will leave you relaxed without getting your mind running around – though for that same reason I find the stone to be boring if used exclusively.
